Captain Jim started fishing as a youngster in 1968 with his family. Since that time he spent countless days learning the tricks and habits of the local area.

In 1994 he became a USCG licensed skipper. That is when Swelltime Charters came to life. Jim and his family, consisting of his wife Anne and son Jesse, are full time year round residents of Alaska.

His hobbies include his family, fishing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling and now, hunting.
